Open Studio Premiere
Earlier this month I opened my studio for the first time.
Promptly at 12 my door opened for the Western Avenue Studios Open Studios. My little corner of the world is on the second floor of what’s known at the “A-Mill.” These used to be textile mills at one point but, now it is a haven of local artists each offering their own creations. It’s supposedly the largest art colony of its kind on the east coast. I have some posters and photos up, and next Saturday (December 5, 2015) I will have Christmas and Holiday cards for sale! If you live in the Merrimack Valley and you haven’t seen this hidden gem, I would put it on the list. Take home some handcrafted gifts for loved ones or go to enjoy art is a setting free of stuffiness.
I first found Western Avenue Studios in January of 2012. A friend of mine worked as an intern in the local recording studio. I wound through the five floors of painters, sculptors, photographers, poets, jewelry, you name it. Each studio was as unique as the people who occupied them. I came back for most of the First Saturday Open Studios after that.
After three years of inspirational trips, I can now contribute to the studios. I hope you come by my studio on Saturday. Check out the event page for more info.
